Veatch Carlson has adapted to
changing times...
Veatch Carlson, a modern, full
service, AV rated firm has roots
that go back to the 1950's when the
current firm was founded by Wayne
Veatch. By that time, Wayne
Veatch had already been practicing
for over 15 years and he began to
assemble a group of top notch trial
attorneys to help propel the
practice into the future.
Although personnel has changed over
the years, the firm practiced under
the name of Veatch, Carlson, Grogan
and Nelson for more than 20 years.
With the deaths of Steve Grogan and
Jim Nelson, it was decided to simply
shorten the name to Veatch Carlson.
We started as a small insurance
defense firm with the practice
focused on aggressive trial work
which was a basic requirement of
nearly all of the clients who
engaged us. The firm has continued
and maintained its focus on hiring
and developing talented attorneys
who have the ability to successfully
litigate and try cases as necessary
with several of our most successful
attorneys becoming members of the
American Board of Trial Advocates (“ABOTA”).
As the firm began to grow in both
numbers and reputation, the firm’s
practice began to expand not only
size, but in the array of legal
services we offer. We continue to
provide litigation and counseling
support to many of our clients in
the insurance industry, many of
which go back to the days of Wayne
Veatch, but the practice has now
expanded into many new specialty
areas.
The Veatch Carlson of today...
Today Veatch Carlson not only
continues to provide litigation
support and counsel to the insurance
industry through representation in
personal injury, products liability,
medical malpractice, and other
related fields, the firm has greatly
expanded this aspect of the practice
well beyond what our founder ever
could have imagined. We currently
represent many public entities
as well as large businesses and
corporations directly in the context
of personal injury actions and
beyond. In the past five years, we
have also added a Workers’
Compensation department which is
quickly expanding into other
related areas of employment law,
including termination of employment
and collective bargaining
relationships.
The firm has grown far beyond its
origins in the insurance defense
industry. Our expansion into many
new practice areas has been in
response to the emerging needs of
both our long and short term clients
who have sought our advice in many
new legal arenas. The firm now
includes departments with expertise
in business litigation, trusts and
estates, intellectual property,
construction, trusts and estates and
law and motion and appellate
practice.
As the firm continues to grow and
expand, we have never forgotten our
roots. We have never varied from the
vision of Wayne Veatch which was to
provide aggressive representation
for all clients, but to consider at
the same time that in the changing
world we live in it is necessary to
continually reevaluate all the
variables that come to bear in any
legal dispute. We have always kept
that in mind and we will continue to
do so into the future.
