KIM D. ASHLEY is a member of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Department. She primarily represents businesses and individuals in actions for copyright, trademark, trade dress and patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition, employment disputes, fraud and media torts, including defamation and invasion of privacy. Ms. Ashley also has experience representing homeowners associations and individual homeowners in real property disputes.

Ms. Ashley joined Veatch Carlson in 2014. Prior to joining Veatch Carlson, Ms. Ashley spent seven years practicing intellectual property, business litigation, and entertainment law at a boutique firm in Century City. While at the firm, Ms. Ashley was on the trial team for several high profile matters which received significant media coverage. She also received her first published opinion in Oatey Co. v. IPS Corp., 665 F.Supp.2d 830 (N.D. Ohio 2009).

Ms. Ashley received her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Davis in 2007 and was admitted to the California State Bar that year. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree cum laude in Business Administration (Finance) from California State University, Northridge, which she attended as a Presidential Scholar.
