LAURA A. REILAND is a seasoned negotiator and litigator with over 30 years’ experience in the fields of general liability, personal injury, professional liability, real estate, and construction defect defense. A graduate of UCLA and Whittier College School of Law, Ms. Reiland has lived and worked in the Los Angeles area her entire life and has established deep roots in the legal community. Ms. Reiland prides herself on her conflict resolution skills by serving as a liaison between her clients, insurance carriers as well as consultants and designated experts.

Before joining Veatch Carlson, Laura was a partner at Northrup Schlueter, APLC where she represented clients including contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and architects in construction defect claims as well as serious personal injury claims that resulted from construction site incidents. Ms. Reiland is an effective advocate and skillful risk manager who, by considering the strengths and weaknesses of a case in the early stages of litigation, has resolved numerous cases through negotiated settlement and mediation.

Ms. Reiland devotes her time to the greater Los Angeles community as a volunteer with Habit for Humanity and has served as a guest lecturer at the Pepperdine University School of Law. In support of her strong belief in upholding the integrity of the advocacy process, Ms. Reiland has published an article on the importance of good sportsmanship in the litigation arena and believes strongly in upholding the integrity of the advocacy process.
