KARYNNE G. WEISS is a 1983 graduate of New York University with a 1986 Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in Brooklyn, New York.  Prior to joining Veatch Carlson, Karynne was a bankruptcy and restructuring associate at the Los Angeles office of Stroock and Stroock and Lavan, where she represented debtors and creditors in chapter 11 reorganization proceedings in the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts located in California, New York, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, Florida and Washington, D.C.  in both transactional and litigation matters.  While at Stroock, Karynne was part of the legal team that successfully reorganized one of the world’s largest multi-national real estate holding company/investor/property managers.  She also co-authored a treatise for the Practicing Law Institute, 16th Annual Current Developments in Bankruptcy and Reorganization (March 1994) entitled “The Bottomless Pit:  The Struggle to Achieve Judicial Consistency in the Application of CERCLA in Bankruptcy Proceedings.”  Karynne practiced in Manhattan for Hahn & Hessen, in its commercial lending and bankruptcy litigation practices.  She has extensive pre-trial and trial preparation experience.

Karynne served as an intern for the Honorable Ruth V. Washington, U.S. Magistrate in the Southern District of New York, where she drafted reports and recommendations in SSI Disability and Habeas Corpus cases.

Karynne speaks three languages besides English: Spanish, French and Italian.
